The controls don't do anything.

you just gotta press up and right a bit
are there not supposed to be controls?
response: I keep trying the arrows and nothings happening.
It's arrow keys man
Clicking the screen doesn't lock it, so when you move, the entire screen does as well making the game unplayable.
yes i know. Sometimes i do remaster version
I've definitely played worse games. And I wouldn't really call this a game since it's completely unplayable.
Response: I gave a bit of a higher rating because I thought at first, that there wasn't a way to jump the initial gap. I gave it another chance and found that I could. After several tries I finally beat it. Good challenge actually, frustrating enough to make me want to finish. I hope you continue making more. BTW, on the last level, I was able to walk off the screen to the left, fell down and was able to keep walking right infinitely, although the character was invisible. There was no way to die or restart so I had to refresh the screen. It would be nice if you go back to start after dying quicker, most games have "R" that resets you back to the beginning.
I don't understand how it's unplayable. Me and my friends played this game without issues, if you're stuck in a level just try looking on what the level has
Took me a while to figure out what to do after collecting the ingredients, and I started out not having much fun. But once I figured out what to do with the cake layers, and how to avoid the box goblins better, it got better. I didn't expect it to be as challenging as it is. It's a nice game to see how long you can go, and it's an interesting take on the original Donkey Kong style of platforming. You should consider adding the Newgrounds scoreboard, I'd like to see how I'm doing compared to others.
I've been nudging the idea, I know the API integration should be easy at least
If I can ever wrap my head around the Newgrounds API, I would love to add scoreboards to all my games.
The screencaps in the description make the game look beautiful, but the actual gameplay looks very simple and cheap. It took FOREVER to load, even with 80mb internet speed, 16gb ram, an SSD and an RTX 3080. I can download Skyrim quicker than the time it took to initially load this game. The game play was also laggy, and I know it's not my set up because I switched over to DS3 with max graphics and it played perfectly. The hitboxes are also off, there were a couple times when I should have taken damage but didn't, it's nice when a game is a bit forgiving, but that along with the ability to use the big attack over and over made the game too easy.
I like the aesthetic, especially the floor with the spiral staircase (except it being too long of a level). The vague plot makes it interesting enough to finish the demo, but lacked enough content to make it fun. It felt like it was building to something, but it continues to give you nothing, and by the end of the demo I felt like it never would. If it was the full game, I probably wouldn't have gotten much further than this before quitting. But this must have taken a lot of effort to create and I think it's got loads of potential. When I saw the butterflies, I figured I would need to remember them for a puzzle later, or I would find something that lets me collect them, like secret items that get harder and harder to find.
